Biography
Ronnie grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated with a BS in Special Education from Ohio University. Her interest in art began in college taking many art history courses at Ohio State and Ohio University. Ronnie's creative abilities, however, we're inspired from her artistic mother who exposed her to just about every avenue and medium in art. Ronnie's passion for flowers led to a career in floral design, taking years of design classes and working as a floral designer for many years. Simultaneously, she started taking drawing and painting classes at the South Florida Art Institute and the Jean Leighton Art Studio in Ft. LAUDERDALE. Ronnie has been able to combine her love of flowers with her watercolor paintings.

Statement
My passion and love for flowers has inspired me as a floral designer and as an artist. Trying to capture the beauty of a single flower, a bouquet, a garden or a landscape in watercolor and mixed media collage is exhilarating. Life continues on canvas and paper long after the petals have dropped and the leaves have turned brown. The beauty of nature produces an endless supply of exciting material for an artist to capture. Whether I am painting in realism or the "essence" of my subject, I am creating and loving it! Recreating the color, balance, rhythm and harmony of nature in my watercolor is a true joy! My motto is "life is a canvas, paint it well".
