Biography

At 19 I came to California to continue my painting and fashion illustrations
I was born and raised in Mexico where I had been apprentice to my mother and to three other local gifted painters.
My artistic education began as a child and continues: I'm still in love with the endless results of color pairings and with the enhancement of texture. I learned to draw and to mix colors at an early age: I would come home after school only to start painting besides my mother; my experiments soon turned into a language of its own that I have continued to refine, the subjects and themes have evolved but the intensity of color and the symbols I attach to each one remain the essence of my work.
I graduated from Santa Monica College with a Art major and continued with the Studio Arts Program -Painting and Life Drawing- at California State University in Northridge, where I focused on human anatomy and two dimensional design.
At my small studio in Los Angeles, I test, paint and edit my work and love every minute of it!

Statement

A mis diecinueve llegue a California con el proposito de continuar mis estudios de ilustracion y de pintura.
Naci y creci en Mexico, en donde fui aprendiz primero de mi madre y eventualmente de tres otros artistas.
Mi educacion artistica comenzo en la infancia y continua, soy muy afortunada: aun adoro la infinidad de colores que resultan al mezclarse entre si, y con la maleabilidad de las texturas. Comence a dibujar y al mismo tiempo a combinar los colores cuando nina: solia regresar de la escuela y sentarme ansiosa junto a mi madre para pintar juntas; mis exploraciones de inmediato adopte como lenguaje propio, mismo que continuo refinando; los temas cambian pero mantengo como esencia de mi trabajo la simbologia de cada color e intensidad de cada contraste.
