Biography
|
I have been a freelance portrait artist for the last 7 years. I have had only one semester in art school, due to financial stress, but hoping to go back someday to finish my degree in art.

Statement
|
I work mostly in pencil and pastels.
What is art to me? It is a reflection of what I feel inside me that comes out through my hand onto the paper. There is apart of me in each work that I do. It expresses not just the lines and shadows that I create, but something deeper within me. I grasp for what is under the layers of the subject and hopefully put those down into my art pieces. I want to always be able to dig for more in my work. To be able to see more and express through my pencil. Emotion is what I seek in my art, from the happy, to the sad, to the everlasting passions of life. I enjoy discovering a new shade or form to work with. It is an never ending process as an artist to try to see the sutle forms and shades of gray in a person or object. To bring it out to mean something and delight the eyes of the onlookers of your work.
