Biography

Mitchell McIntyre was born in Brisbane in 1966. During his artistic career, Mitchell has exhibited his work in a number of solo exhibitions in Queensland as well as showing his work in several group exhibitions and art shows.
Examples of his work can be found in many private collections in Australia, Slovenia, Ireland and Hong Kong.

Starting March 21st until June 1st 2008 Art Gallery at the Town of Seaside (6/35 seaside Blvd, Marcoola, QLD, Australia) is host to the third solo exhibition of local artist and resident Mitchell McIntyre.
Titled "Space Between Positive and Negative" Mitchell's new works set up relationships between positive and negative space that are frequently ambiguous, making us unsure as to weather we are looking at a subject or the space created by the subject due to its placement. This sense of ambiguity is a defining characteristic of his process - in which negatives are rendered as positives and vice verse.
