Biography

Tanya Roberts was born on March 2nd, 1981 in a small Florida town. She started drawing at a young age like most people but was encouraged to continue her artistic interests by her Great Aunt Lena throughout her childhood. When she started junior high school, she started taking private and scholastic art classes and continued this until she graduated from high school. After high school, she studied Marine Biology at Texas A&M for two years, then returned to art after noticing science was not where she wanted to be. She now attends Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma where she is in pursuit of a B.F.A.

Statement

Art is an emotional outlet for me. It allows me to escape from this world and shows me how to explore new ideas and concepts. Recently, sexuality has shown itself in much of my art, and I have been developing some very feminist points of view on this issue. I have no glorified thoughts of fame and fortune from my work, but I do thoroughly enjoy the process of art. I am in love with making art, and hope you enjoy looking at what I have to share.
