Statement
|
Lisa's work is graphic & bold with strong line, happy colors, and the design is an important part of her work. The negative spaces are often the most interesting element in her work. Often times, the background patterns make an impact. Almost architechtural in nature, these particular pieces are mosaic-like. Although, they are stylized, the creatures she paints are correctly depicted. Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts know what species of creatures or plants are being depcited. The beautiful southwest deserts and mountains and the critters that live there provide constant inspiration for her work.
