Featuring Award-Winning Artist, Charlotte Catlett Gerlach
Charlotte, a native of Richmond, Virginia, relocated to West Virginia with her husband, John, and their three children, Deborah, Philip, & Thomas, in 1974. Charlotte's Studio, located in scenic Lost Creek, is where she creates and markets her original oil paintings, limited edition prints, original graphics, and provides custom framing. A professional, self-taught artist, her work has earned numerous awards and has received recognition on a national level for her commissioned work. Charlotte's work is widely published. She has generously contributed her talent and works to causes close to her heart such as People's Hospice and the American Lung Association and Duck's Unlimited, West Virginia Health Right, Inc., Clarksburg Historic Society. Charlotte's work can be seen throughout WV in various State Parks gift shops and select galleries. Charlotte's work is also on display to the public in Washington, DC., in connection with fine art paintings that she was commissioned to paint for prestigious real-estate developers.Charlotte, best known for her photo realistic detail, is able to maintain a fine balance between the technical and the emotional aspect of her subjects throughout each and every piece. Her style touches both children and adults. Working in a preferred medium of oils or pen and ink, extensive research goes into each of her pieces, ranging from sketching, painting, and photography on location to obtaining specimens from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
