Biography

Born in the Netherlands, imigrated to South Africa 1948. Started working career as comercial artist 1960, Studied fine art at Wits tech.Colledge Johannesburg and Durban Tech. colledge. Painting full time and tutoring from from 1976. My work is hanging in most European countries, as well as England, USA, Canada,Brazil, Chily and Australia. I have dificulty in getting the images of my paintings on to this web site. Can someone give advise

Statement

|
South Africa is a land of contrasts with bright light and deep shadows, lush forests, savanas and deserts and it is changing rapidly because of western technology. Its people are steeped in tradition and they are changing because of western culture. I want to capture these changes while the old ways and superstitions are still within the realms of observation.
