Biography
|
Michael is a singer/songwriter, musician and artist, born in Baltimore, MD. His grandfather was a German pianist responsible for discovering and supporting some of the greatest opera singers of the twentieth century including Marion Anderson and Elizabeth Schwarzkopf. Being the grandson of this famous accompanist, He has always been surrounded by travel, music and art.
He began to express myself artistically at a very early age without formal training. His artistic influences such as Peter Max, James Rizzi, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Picasso, Monet and Van Gogh have all inspired his artwork. He has been writing music, and sporadically painting since he can remember, and can be seen performing under various pseudonyms. Recently, his song "In Love with a Friend" was part of the latest Deep Dish album (George is On) that received 2 Grammy nominations in 2006. His art, like his music can be simplistic, a bit primitive and childlike, but always full of spirit, and from the heart, much like a simple melody and lyrics! His paintings emit color, emotion, and feeling which he hopes art lovers can appreciate. In November 2006, He began painting flowers partly to celebrate the ceremony of his recent marriage, and mostly to express his gratitude for the blessings of good friends and family. "My goal is to paint flowers for everyone special in my life before I die, it's a long list but I hope to accomplish it!"
Today along with his music reaching worldwide audiences, now his paintings can be seen in private and corporate collections around the world.
