Statement
|
The alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfer offers incrediable diversity and creates moody individualized imagery that have a "painterly qualtiy" to them. The mobility and flexablility of this photographic medium lends itself to spontaneous exploration. The added possibility of reworking my imagery using watercolor and pastel pencils adds another creative dimension to this alternative process, offering me unlimited opportunities to transform the photographic image.
My images have diverse themes: the crumbling graves of persons long gone, or the quirky kitsch of a roadside Elvis museum are some of my subjects. I photograph the places and things that catch my eye and I travel through life. Like many artists, my time is divided between my family, my job and my art. To maintain some sort of balance, most of my photographs are shot while I'm going on with my ordinary life. While taking a kid to a soccer game, a family outing or vacation I manage to create images from fleeting moments and transform them into "one of a kind" images.
