Statement
|
Invoking links between technology and emotion, reality and dreams, rationality and magic, with my images I try to highlight the move from the old logic of rationality to a utopian dream society. The works consist of elements from different art forms and are a synthesis into the digital media.
I digitize, manipulate, extract elements, and compose them to create unconventional digital hybrid images, which transcend the original work. I hope the resulting images manage to say something about these images, which goes beyond what was in the originals.
Besides exploration and investigation of the possible development of newer contexts and aesthetics, the digital hybrid images also experiment with the interplay between the simultaneous experience of image and object, as viewers might experience them. They explore issues of subjective space through a dialogue between dimensional analogies and idea of an object in one dimension being the shadow of an object in another dimension.
It might be thought of as dissociating known subject relationships and re-associating them in new ways. I have developed this artistic thread throughout my work. I like to think that there is a harmonious relationship between medium and cognition. By employing digital techniques, my intent is for the artworks to evoke a sense of captivation and mysticism.
The interrelation of artistic forms and concept are strong forces affecting the outcome of my art. Working with form and idea as integral parts of one another and bringing this relationship to maturity and artistic success, is the essence of the creative process
This direction, which my art has taken, has provided me with seemingly inexhaustible stimulus. It encompasses a range of expansion conductive to versatile invention but retains a commonality of style and idea. It is for me secure and satisfying as an artistic statement.
