As humans we have to go through many such separations we would never want to encounter. And yet it is because of these partings we learn about love and distance and learn that if love is for real, there really is no distance either. When something in life really hurts us, it is like time condenses, non-essentials fall away and a new time begins. What we experienced will stay with us for the rest of our lives and it has molded us but life goes on. We continue forward, and we must continue forward and if things go well, sorrow has taught us that we can't take any person for granted.

That photo gave me the inspiration to paint a picture of what it would look like as an adult horse.

The curve of the horse?s neck and the lines of the mosaic complemented each other well. Also I loved the strong colors of the mosaic.

I stopped doing those because I thought they wouldn't be considered "serious" enough. Well, now I don't care anymore if my work is considered to be serious or not, I rather paint what I like.
The model for this work is Yogi, an Arabian stallion. I had planned to paint a portrait of a horse against a full moon and when I saw Yogi's beautiful profile I knew I had found the right horse for the work. At first I thought I'd paint mist around the horse, but this oriental motive was more in the spirit of Yogi. This work has been exhibited at Mall Galleries, London, UK and Palace House, Newmarket, UK. I took photographs for the portrait of Anka and took some photos of Nette sitting on Zinbell. The sun made the colors so deliciously beautiful, I just couldn't resist painting this.

This pastel painting is such a work - I started painting it on a cold winter evening and the evening turned into night because I just had to finish this painting at once.

About 50 starts in a year requires a lot of energy! His victories tell a story of their own. Now Baron has retired.

Unfortunately his pasterns were too weak for running and eventually even walking caused considerable pain. He was suffering too much so his owner had to make the difficult decision to let him go to greener pastures. He left behind wonderful memories, because he was really gentle and kind by character. His full sister is The Banyan Tree

But not just any cat. Princess is a character of her own. She loves to ride horses. She even sleeps on horseback and sits royally when the horse walks, eyeing her surroundings calmly. She knows she is beautiful and allows people to adore her and it almost looks like she was smiling.

He is the apple of his owner's eye, the kind of a dog you only find once in a lifetime. Tuhka has a big heart and he charms more people every day. He loves and defends his own up to no limits, and takes wonderful care of the members of his pack. He always has a spark of joy in his eyes and has never had a bad day. "Life is my favorite" is Tuhka's motto and you can clearly see this just by looking at him.

Labrador

I painted this Labrador from a photograph.
