The front and the back of both columns were completely destroyed. The sides were partially intact. Tiles were fabricated to resemble the period tiles that were already in place. There were no photos available of the original installation. The restoration is based on historical tile designs from primarily California Potteries in the 1920's.

Portal

La Placita

Mosaic artwork located at 145 N Main St. Las Cruces, NM 88001 (between Zeffiros and Main Street)

Entrada del Sol

Location: 711 E Hadley Ave, Las Cruces NM 88001 (Intersection of Hadley and Manzanita)
Glenn Schwaiger designed this park and also made and installed over 300 square feet of handmade tiles. Community Participation made this project possible. The artistic talents of many hands can be viewed especially on the benches and around the planters.
