The french artist Jenkell that lives and works and Cannes is emphasising a conscious turn-about in her career. After mastering with undoubted skill the classic technics of drawing, painting, etching, and sculpting she is exploring and creating with a new palette of exciting and technically challenging contemporary materials such as unpredictable cosmetics, mystical and magnetic quartz, high technology plexi-glass, and cutting edge resin components.
For the past ten years her work has been mostly figurative and as a result of intensive artistic and soul searching work she came to the eye-opening reality that she had to express her most profound and heartfelt artistic abilities and accept that her message had to be vehiculed through a new period of abstract painting.
Jenkell believes abstract painting is a natural evolution of her own personal painting, and gives birth to graceful shapes that only belong to her.
She never trys to transpose reality but seeks on the contrary to extract that reality to create forms that are personal to her and translate them accordingly to allow an emotion that can be moving.
The reality gushes out as by enchantment, magnified by the artists hands. Whether on collages, gold leaves, copper or aluminium, on canvas, on wood, or on paper, the emotion is present, the adjacent reality and the ever presence of the color blue. The color blue, still and forever present. For the greater pleasure of the admiring eyes.
