Daniel Edward was born in 1979 in Chicago, Illinois. He studied art education at Northern Illinois University and currently works in his field teaching elementary art in the Northwest suburbs. Daniel is currently working on his Masters in Teaching in Leadership and shortly upon graduation plans to enroll in a Masters of Fine Arts program. He sees his teaching career as leading toward higher education, where he can mentor future art educators.
Though he spends his days educating future artists he has never stopped the creation of his own works; often feeling that being an actual artist gives him the power to educate on the subject with more authority. Daniel works as a freelance painter creating primarily in mixed-medias and watercolor. He draws his inspiration from all around him, sketching flowers, and even cracks in the sidewalk, which will later take shape in his paintings.
Daniel's current paintings on display are a continuing study of the contrasting forms in the nature. He often pairs contrasting organic and geometric shape together, rendering them in complementing color schemes. As well as relying on the natural for inspiration, Daniel allows nature to guide his works. He often leaves stacks of papers out in the rain to form the backgrounds of his work, and relinquish control to the elements; Control & the Uncontrollable.
