Steven King is a 37 year old artist living on the gulf coast of Florida with his wife and three maniacal little imps.

Statement
|
|
The main focus of my images has been the human form in the classical style and while it still intrigues me I`m starting to put out work with a more primitive tone to it and find I really love it.
By breaking away from my classical training my work is evolving towards a more abstract style.
With the use of heavily layered textured acrylics and contrasting color schemes I strive to create from these abstract concepts an illusion of reality with an almost sculptural quality.
I`ve found an outlet for expression through these primal portrayals of color and texture which had eluded me in previous artistic endeavors.
After years of struggle to get each piece just perfect I`ve discovered..they don`t have to be.
In fact the harder you reach for perfection the more it eludes you.
Besides, it`s alot more fun this way.
