My artistic interests began with B&W photography around the age of 11. My older brother Michael was at around that time attending the School of Visual Arts in NYC for photography and would often use as a model and assitant for many of his assigments. It wasn't long before I was shooting on my own, developing my own film, and printing in the dark room. As I improved, I was seriously considering making it my career by my junior year in high school after attending a field trip to Pratt Institute. I was so relieved and elated to see that a lot of the photograohy student's work on display there was actually somewhat mediocre. I guess I was just expecting to see such superior work and ended up just being encouraged that my work was just as good for a high school student. But as it turned out, I didn't pursue photography as a career though I did keep somewhat busy doing freelance projects. Then in the mid 9o's, I took a job managing a photo studio. This was great because it gave me a steady paycheck while enabling to make contacts and get a fair amount of side freelance work. But everything changed when we started doing digital retouching. I started learning Photoshop and just fell in love with it. It was essentially an entire darkroom at your fingertips. I worked on mainly retouching headshots.

Joseph Cuiccio is a self-taught Digital Artist, Photoshop Specialist and Photographer currently living in New York City and doing a variety of digital imaging and photography work from his freelance studio Digital Art Etc. All of Joseph's artwork is digitally created and available for purchase as musuem quality giclee prints. Some images are purely computer generated, while others are combinations of computer generated, photographic and scanned images. All works are original and protected by copyright laws. Each glicee is printed by Joseph himself to ensure that the utmost quality and care go into each and every image. Unfortunately, viewing the images online cannot do them justice. The depth, extremely rich, vivid colors, and immense detail which are trademarks of Joseph's work simply cannot be realized via the internet. In short, these prints just have to been seen to be appreciated.
