Biography
|
Adam Mitchell Bash 1971-
Relatively new to the Miami art scene, Adam is self-taught, experimenting with many mediums including ink, watercolor, airbrush, pastel, and charcoal. Influenced mostly by music and science, he has no particular message he wishes to convey through his work. Instead, the viewer is encouraged to contemplate the work and to make one's own judgement as to what he or she sees. This concept is evident in such works as "Wilma's Wrath" and "Upon Closer Inspection of the Eagle Nebula".
Other works are more lucid, such as "Look Up" and "Three Eyes", which tone down complexity, but make up for it with rich color and playful subject matter.
The artists that shaped Adam's mindset include H.R. Giger, R.S. Connit, Chris Mars, Charles Bragg, Wilfredo Llam, Vermeer, and Bosch.

Statement
|
"Ultimately I want my viewers to feel like they've been offered a psychdelic journey through my mind. Remove the blinders from your eyes and explore what these peices mean to you. If I ever found out that someone had an intellectual or spritual epiphany while contemplating one of my drawings, then I certainly accomplished what I set out to do.
WHen I was young, my mother told me that if I want to be a good artist, I must draw what I see and not what I think I see. I then proceeded to do just the opposite. I never looked back."
