David Martine

Biography
Born in 1960 in New York, David Bunn Martine is of Shinnecock/Montauk, Chiricahua Fort Sill Apache and Hungarian descent. This heritage of American Indian and European is influential on the work. A recipient of a Joan Mitchell award in painting, David has been a professional artist for 30 years.
 
Statement
Many of these paintings are based on research into the history of Native American culture from the Algonquins of the East Coast to the Apaches of the Southwest, U.S. I have always been interested in representational art and historical scenes from the past.
