Mark was born in Oakland Califorina and studied Painting and Drawing on a pre-college scholarship at San Francisco Art Institute. In 1977 Mark graduated Boise State University with BFA with secondary teaching certification. 1979
Mark Graduated University of Idaho, Moscow, ID with Mat degree.

Statement

|
My inspiration comes from nature and the materials that I work with. I am fascinated by the interaction of the washes of color and the way that the paper absorbs the paint. The textures, color, shapes, and light found in nature are the source of a dialogue between me, the subject and the materials that I work with.
