Biography
|
My name is Sharon Grant. I was born and raised in Australia.
One could even say that, I was born with a paintbrush in one hand and a pen in the other. As I recall, I was forever drawing/ painting on myself, walls, clothes and other things, where I shouldn't have, since I was a child.
It was in my later years that, I began to get serious about painting, in 1995. I was a young mother, who was house bound at the time, so I started to teach myself how to paint, as I had no escape, so painting became my outlet.
In the year of 2000 I had make a move from the city to the country. It was a big adjustment for myself, and my children. I didn't take to the area to well at first, as I was, so bored and didn't know what to do, as I couldn't find employment.
So once again, I return to painting, but this time decided to study in Fine Arts in 2002, where I completed certificate 111 & IV where I learnt a range of diverse forms of art.
I have many works being currently exhibited throughout Albury and Local regions. I have sold many pieces to private collectors, throughout Australia and other countries, I have been commissioned to paint murals and have participation in many group/solo exhibitions.
I'm have been commision under Bonegilla Glass as an artist in resistance, where i have also had the opportunity to work along many other great artists.

Statement
|
Most of my artworks are about feelings and experiences at the time of creating them, while some of these paintings were done in a matter of days, others were more difficult, and took several weeks to achieve the effect I was after. I have travelled to many different places to find "that perfect location" to portray the emotion that I was after.
