|
Sharon Belle Hawkshawe is a professional painter, photographer and published writer. Sharon was born in Dayton Ohio. Her Mother is a published author, distinguished historian, speaker and history professor. Her departed Father was a notable painter, innovative architect and art professor. Sharon was raised both on a farm and in the suburbs of Washington D.C. She spent her summers appreciating nature in all its forms, with her Grandmother, on a farm in Germantown, Ohio. During the academic year, Sharon lived in Columbia, Maryland (with her parents).
Her parents exposed her to the National Galleries located in Washington D.C., the theater, music, various forms of dance, literature, and foreign culture. Sharon's father recognized a desire and talent for the visual arts at a young age, and quickly began mentoring her. Her love of life, family, close friends and life's experiences as well as the experience of living in such diverse communities, with dynamically creative individuals, can be seen throughout her paintings, photography and writing.
Sharon specializes in abstract and modern art using both acyclic and oil mediums. She enjoys the use of bright, vibrant colors in her work. She particular enjoys painting diverse images, using a contrast of dark and light colors; evoking thought, discussion and debate. Sharon's landscapes capture the essence and memories of her Grandmother's farm. Her seascapes are simple, pure and soulful recapturing her first impressions of life living in South Beach, Florida. And Sharon's abstractions explore the most basic human emotions and thoughts.
Sharon's creativity manifests itself in numerous ways. You will always find Sharon doing something creative such as crocheting, playing the piano, painting, writing, or making rugs. So it was not a surprise when she began selling her photographs. Her newest passion; photography, has consumed much of her life in the last few years. She is specializing in landscapes and cityscapes. Her pictures are majestic and raw - simple, yet complex.
Sharon writes under her nom de plume Sharon Belle and has co-authored a book of poetry entitled Songs of the Soul The cover as well as the illustrations, were also created by her. Her second book of poetry is entitled A Soul Speaks and is also illustrated by her.
