Biography
|
I have been a ceramic artist now for thirteen years, off and on. I started when I was fifteen years of age and took an Intro. to Ceramics class in high school. Trying to find my individuality in the confusing world of teenage-hood, I fell quickly and hard for all forms of art. Ceramics came most naturally to me. It was my escape from the world around me. I was truly inspired by the Word of God and felt God working through my hands to shape the clay in front of me. I found this to be an interesting metaphor for the shape my life was taking through God's hands. Ceramics became my source of joy and God, my inspriation. Throughout my young adult-hood, I have developed not only as a gifted artist, but also as a strong believer in the Word. I have had to deal with many difficulties in life, including a chronic illness, but find that ceramics is truly freeing from all of life's mishaps. I continue to grow day by day as an artist and human being. As I have grown, it has been very exciting to see my technique grow and form as well. I feel that ceramic fountains are my niche, and have successfully completed five to date. I hope to expand this field in the future.
