Biography
|
My fine work (eg: "Adrift") is executed totally by hand, pen & ink on cream-wove paper. It is then mounted in a shadow box. My graphic work is an after-effect of an AAS in commercial art, but hey... If you like the style, we can work on any graphics project you might have in mind.
My fine work has been displayed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art...in an employee show!! I worked at the Met for 8 years as a security guard after college. The influence that gig had on me, in terms of both my aesthetic philosophy and my technique, cannot be overstated. I learned more about the nuances and scope of art working there than any university education could ever imbue.
It is, after all, how Robert Ryman started!

Statement
|
My fine work is executed in a very small format. Pieces like "adrift" measure no more than 3" X 2". I have a soft spot in my heart for small work, both as an artist and as viewer. I find that smaller work conveys an intimacy to the viewer. For a brief moment, as you scrutinize the piece, it becomes yours alone.
