Biography
|
"Born in Bucharest, Romania, in 1950, the artist immigrated to Brazil in 1959, where he studied arts and photography, at the Belas Artes Institute in Sao Paulo. His family moved the United States in the late 1960s. In the U.S., he has been working with photography for 32 years in the advertising and printing industry in Los Angeles. As a photographer, he established a small studio and specialized on black and white portrays. In this field, Gligoriu was known for an edgy work of retouching and tinting black and white pictures.
Lately, with the advent of digital photography, the artist has been experimenting with this technology. His passion for the nature thanks to his contact with the exotic Brazilian and Californian landscape has inspired him to his "floral creations" in digital art.
Art runs deep under the skin of this Armenian born Romanian artist. He admits that the richness of the countries where he lived and the interaction of the people and the nature in these countries have ignited on him a love for the arts. He defines his work as an effort to create art to please the eyes and to be enjoyed.
