Biography
|
Alexei Dmitriev was born in Moscow, Russia in 1956. He lived in Brussels, Belgium.
In 1980 Alexey Dmitriev graduated from Stroganoff Decorative and Applied Arts State Academy (Moscow) with the specialty of monumental and painting art leaded by V.Petroff.
Since 1975 he participated in many exhibitions of Russian non-official artists like well known "Pchelovodstvo" and "Gorkom". He became a member of "Gorkom" - Moscow Graphics Arts Union in 1979. Since 1980 Alexey Dmitriev was incorporated to the Moscow Artists Union, the capitol brunch of Artists Union of USSR.
In 1990 he became a member of the Union of Artists of Israel.
Since 1993 he is also a member of the Belgian Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers (SABAM), painting section.
There were 17 solo shows of Aleksey Dmitriev in the period of 1990-2013: in Brussels (at galleries "Giraffe" and "Sablon" and culture centers of Saint-Gilles, Ukkel, Forest), in Berlin, Tel-Aviv, Nazareth, Jerusalem, London, Sidney and Paris.
He took part in more than 100 group exhibitions all over the world. Nearby 150 works belong to private collections in many countries.
Museum of Art Brut in Brussels has 2 pictures. Three pictures were bought by George Pompidou Center, Paris.
In 2015 he retuned to Russia and died soon.
