"From the very first time i dropped a piece of lifeless clay on the head of a potter's wheel, I knew I wanted to create fascinating objects. Objects that evidence the hand of the maker and method of production"
Does this object have to be functional? Does it have to be cylindrical or round? Does it have to look like a pristine shop bought object?
Yet Andrew has from his first reading of Soetsu Yanagi's `The Unknown Craftsman' developed a conflict between wanting to create objects of desire and objects of function. This manifests itself in his current practise in which he works on both function and sculptural pieces.
