Biography
Both my grandmother and mother are great and talented artists. Art is in my blood. I have been drawing since I could crawl, and I've always done the same things; painted flowers, drew sunsets, things of that nature. However, I've never really noticed how my art would change every time I moved to a new state. My father is a Sales Manager for an engine company, and we have moved three times. All three places I have lived in are completely different environments. Orange County, which is where I was born and raised, was the busy uptown area, Nevada was the rough coarse desert, and Pennsylvania had the rolling sea of green hills. I have a pretty good perception of new environments and change. It's only natural that my subjects and styles started to change because everything else around me changed too. In 2006 I was able to go to Carnegie Hall, New York City to receive an award and during my stay in New York, my mom and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. That experience changed my life. I felt like I was standing in front of all the masters of art, and not just their artwork. After every corner I turned and every room I entered I was amazed. It was surreal to see the actual paintings themselves instead of the pictures in art books. You could actually feel the presence of the painting and the artist when you are there looking at the original. That truly changed the way I look at art to this day. I would have to say the last experience that has changed my art is very simple. Just the fact that I have lived in Nevada for over ten years has changed my work, as well as my subjects. Instead of painting landscapes and valleys, I have done more and more cactuses, mountains, rocks, etc, all the natural land of the Nevada desert. My colors have changed as well. Instead of bright soft and light colors, I have been doing more subtle, dimmer and earthy colors to reflect the atmosphere of the desert.

Statement
My art is boldy colored, dramatic, and figurative. My subjects are items of organic material, non-mechanical items. Sometimes they're not even items, they are sometimes landscapes, small animals, or cityscapes. My subjects reflect my passion for traveling. The scenes of my art are from different cities and countries all around the world. My subjects are the places where I would like to go someday. Since I am not able to go to all these places, painting them will have to do for now. The second I think of a new subject I want to paint, I automatically think about what medium I should do it in, how big should it be, and when I can I start it. I am not trying to send out a message, I do art simply because it makes me happy. It helps me to cope with the troubles and stress of life. For me, art is a tool to reach a personal peace. I feel like my soul is more complete when I do art. The mediums which I use are acrylic paint, pen and ink, watercolor, and pencil. I rarely do the same medium after one piece unless it is part of a series. My colors are very bold and tropical. Bold colors, to me at least, brings out the true color of things under the shadows and muting. Normally I do figurative pieces of objects and scenes and such. However, lately I've been going more towards the impressionism style. I am starting to do my pieces half figurative half impressionism. The figurative part represents the stability in the painting, knowing what you are seeing. The impressionism part represents the freedom, flux, taking a second look to see what is really there. One needs both in life as well as in art. The only technique I use when I start a new piece is that I will sketch the piece out first. Then I pick a corner of the canvas and work my way outwards. After I finish a piece, I will sign it then spray it with a fixative.
