Bernie Elliott
|
Biography
|
Bernie's art is self-taught, with the exception of a couple of life drawing classes in college and standard art classes in high school in the early 1970's. He always was drawing and coloring as a kid and later sketching as a young adult. It was after a military enlistment when he became much more serious about his expressions and what his subjects were. Satisfied with the human anatomy he had studied he dove into more expression with color and the effect it had on the picture he was working on. Soon, he started using a monochrome palette with his acrylic paintings and liked the outcome he was achieving. Still, he loved watercolors and continued to learn and paint many things in his surroundings. His love for nature, including birds, plants and flowers, and landscapings with wonderful stormy skies.
Bernie has now taken an early retirement due to illness' and a progressing eye disease that will leave him blind in a few years.
Now, he is driven to his painting and has a clock that is ticking away, to a point he will no longer be able to see anymore or paint.
Please take a look at his work and take a few moments to sign his guestbook, as he loves to hear from everyone.
His other on-line galleries are easy to get to. Please take a few minutes to take a look there and let him know what you like or don't like!

Statement
|
"An art professor once told me that no one would ever look at anything the way he did, and that is what makes art. It's all the difference in things we see and not the way others see them."
