Statement
|
"Despite his young age, Svetlin Nikolaev has surpries manny collectors, moulding himself all his work and reaching surprising matureness in his works.
Nikolaev is one of those rare sculptors to mould his own works rather then bringing his models to be moulded in bronze
His works are figurative and expresive, creating a world of romantic ideas and engaging in representing animals, not so much symbolicly as is often done, but in their more natual sence, very much like western European "Animaliers"
Nevertheless he finds inspirations in remodeling the human anatomy and incorporating natural features or animal elements in an otherwise common hand, leg or ear
His works show a mature expresion, are filled with idealogies and humor and stubornly reject the classical academical guidelines common to his country of origine."
