Biography

Alexandru is a talented artist from Transylvania,Romania who makes
his living as a linoleum printmaker.
"In my linocuts i experience living in a world in which past,present
tradition and modernism are interwoven with a new concept of art."
The artistic message is half ciphered,because the artist uses symbols,
nonfigurative motives and elements of abstraction for his subjects.
The polarities of figurative-abstract is an attempt to explore the
illusion of permanence in which the nature unfolds its secrets.
Expressive,for example,is "irrational" but monumental interpretation
of architectonic motives as you can see in "Traditions" collection
and even in"The time".
General space is sometimes as it was falling into another dimension,
especially in "The mirror",and sometimes is closing on itself,without
perspective,which becomes more and more noticeable in "The sign" or in "The
time".
Alexandru is difficult to classify but reviews have sometimes
used the terms "silent surrealism" to qualify his very personal genre.
His collection is well worth seeing as it express a praiseworthy
artistic maturity achieved in a short period of time.
These works of art are hand-made limited edition and are numbered and
signed by artist.
