Rohonczy,Leslie-Church at Sunset
Church at Sunset

Painting Acrylic
Size: 24x36
1400 CAD

Description: The primary point of this painting was to capture a monster sky, with all the drama that the universe can muster. As it began to take shape, I found the focal point moving toward the centre, and decided to build the painting with everything leading to the centre point. I placed an old church in partial silhouette, with a warm light emanating from within, which people have said makes them wonder who's in there and what they're doing.

Statement
It is my desire to create works of art that elicit an emotional reaction. Through use of dramatic, sometimes unconventional colour and form, I hope to make a meaningful connection with the viewer that enriches and energizes.

I believe that creativity is a simple equation with a very complex impact. The combination of imagination and curiosity are two wonderful gifts that, combined, are larger than the sum of their parts: IMAGINATION + CURIOSITY = CREATIVITY.

Art is therapy. Art is joy. Art is frustration, realization, discovery and enlightenment. And I am thankful for the journey every day.
