Color is what my work is all about. In my paintings, I've tried to use color to create mood and to capture the beauty of the natural world around me. Whether it is a still life, floral, garden painting or landscape, I want to present a scene of quiet reverie that gives pleasure to the viewer. Color in itself is exhilarating - different hues can depict different things: energy, emotion, structure, and movement. What's more, in painting, there are no set rules; you can use any color you want!
Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, I have been able to study with many excellent teachers, but above all I have endeavored to learn and develop on my own. One's style must be unique and individual, and to have that, the artist must listen to her own voice, and make her own discoveries.
